Tips

  • This is my favorite park downtown. There is so much history here. I recommend walking around the former Indian school campus and reading about its history.
  • Loved the park for the Scottish Highland Games...Its so calming sitting by the lake and watching the ducks.. See you next year at the Highland Games
  • Nice little park downtown. Came for the July 4th fireworks - PACKED. Been before. Also, small but we'll kept doggie parks inside.
  • I love this park! It has something for everyone and the history of it is really interesting. It's built on the site of a old Native American boarding school. It's a really nice place.
  • As a journalism student, Steele Indian School Park was a great place to do some photography. I'd highly recommend the statues of the man playing cards on the south side of the lake.
  • Did you know? The park is on the site of a former boarding school for Native American children. The school was operated by the U.S government from 1891 until 1988.
