2 Towns Ciderhouse releases Throne of Thorns, a limited release raspberry and blackberry cider. Inspired and with subtle nods to Game of Thrones, the Corvallis-based cidery describes it as a battle of berries—a clash of cane fruit—on an arena of apples. Armies of raspberries and blackberries go to war, vying to win over your taste buds. Enjoy the sweet, ripe reward of this epic clash starting this week.
Throne of Thorns weighs in at 6% ABV and uses 100% fresh-pressed NW apple juice that is infused with equal amounts of whole Oregon-grown blackberries and red raspberries. It’s then fermented with a special Vinho (sic) Verde Portuguese yeast strain to bring out all the exceptional characters of the fruit. Dry, high in acid, but rich in ripe cane-fruit character, the Throne of thorns was created with spring in mind.
As always, 2 Towns Ciderhouse never uses added sugars, or artificial essences or flavorings. Instead, we allow the fruit to speak for itself. Throne of Thorns is available in the 2 Towns Ciderhouse Tap Room starting March 20th, and to distributors in bottles, and 1/6 bbls and 1/2 bbl kegs within the following week. Less than 1275 cases were bottled for distribution and will be available while stock lasts.
2 Towns Ciderhouse is committed to pushing the bounds of what cider can be, while also honoring tradition. To continue its interest in the unexpected and daring 2 Towns created the Limited Release line of ciders in 2013, beginning with the Hop & Stalk and followed by Cidre Muscato.
