10 Best College Football Stadium Eats Slideshow

With Touchdown Jesus as their witness, the Fighting Irish faithful eat well all fall. ND has added dishes such as prime rib, grilled shrimp sandwiches, and BBQ nachos to its lineup. If it's a hot game, football fans can cool down with a cone of locally-sourced ice cream.

Stanford University

The Cardinal fans have one of the most valuable quarterbacks in the nation, Andrew Luck, but they are also in luck when it comes to grabbing a bite between television timeouts. Stanford Stadium serves up sushi, organic all-beef "Farm dogs" on whole wheat buns, and personal pizzas.

University of Oregon

Oregon's concession options are as impressive as its team's high-scoring offense. Duck fans can feast on sandwiches filled with marionberry-barbeque; pepper-crusted pastrami and provolone; and wild Pacific salmon with chipotle mayonnaise.

Brigham Young University

At LaVelle Edwards Stadium, the Cougars have an abundance of fresh, healthy options like the chicken and veggie rice bowls or an oversized grilled burrito. For those looking to indulge, there is a maple donut bar that will spark a sugar rush, no matter how the home team is faring.

Texas v. Oklahoma

Technically, this annual showdown isn't a home game for either team, but we'll grandfather it into the piece because the food options deliver. The Red River Shootout, held at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, is not a place for compromise. Half of the 92,000-seat stadium wears boomer red, the other half burnt orange. But if there is one thing that brings these two camps together, it's the fried food spectacle of the Texas State Fair held right outside the stadium. Both team's fans support the corny dogs, fried PB & J, fried cookie dough, fried beer, and, yes, even fried butter.

University of Michigan

Those fortunate enough to make it inside the perpetually-packed 'Big House' are treated to quite a spread in the luxury boxes. The maize and blue-clad fans can choose from a menu that goes beyond burgers and brats, with choices like beef tenderloin; an antipasti platter; and white bean chicken chili. That's not to say they don't have kettle chips and onion dip for those who want it.

University of Alabama

Given the legendary tailgating scene, it's not very often that the Tide fans roll into Bryant-Denny Stadium needing more to much on. But for those who find themselves seeking sustenance, there is a new addition this fall: Chik-fil-A. It's hard to explain the appeal of this fast food franchise to those who don't live in the south, but it has an In-N-Out-like cult.

University of Wisconsin

The Holy Trinity of the state's bounty — cheese, sausage, and beer — are well-represented at Camp Randall. Cheese curds show up alongside popcorn at the concessions, Sheboygan Falls-based Johnsonville supplies the brats, and the beer served in the box seats is craft and local, like New Glarus Spotted Cow, Capital Oktoberfest, and Esser's Best.

University of Nebraska

Here in the heartland, the Cornhuskers serve a Runza, the food version of a football. The Runza is a dough pocket stuffed with ground beef, cheese, and onions, and baked to gut-busting perfection. Still hungry? Then look to the tube steaks. Nebraska butcher Wimmer's provides the Polish sausages, Cheddar brats, and little smokies.

University of Missouri

In 2010, the Tigers expanded its stadium's culinary offerings to include smoked brisket, chopped salads, veggie burgers, and butter cake dippers. To bridge the gap between the old and new school favorites, they've created a brilliant truce — the Mizzou Dog topped with the chopped brisket and onion straws.
