You Need To Eat This: Chocolate Chip Cookies

Today is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day — and really, what desert is more sentimental than a chocolate chip cookie?

Some people like them raw, some with nuts, others with oatmeal ... but just about everyone likes chocolate chip cookies.

Yes, there are tons of bakeries in the Pittsburgh area, but not everyone agrees on their favorites.

So, I've compiled a list of people's favorites around the office.

Alex N. (Marketing and Promotions Producer): Nancy B's. Nancy B's satisfies my two-point food grading system: they are gigantic and taste amazing. Plus, nothing beats them when they are served fresh and warm. You haven't tried a Nancy B's cookie unless you've gone to the bakery in Homestead and been handed one right from the oven.

Tim W. (Digital Media Manager): DiBella's. DiBella's chocolate chip cookies are one of my favorites. They are made homemade every day, and you can tell. They load up the cookies with so much chocolate chips, you can barely take a bite of one without getting a mouthful of chocolate.

Brenda W. (Reporter/Anchor): Oakmont Bakery. She said "if you want to spend some money honey ... Oakmont Bakery is the best." She later added that "I love the pineapple upside down cake, to die for." Special shout out for Mrs. Field's too.

Myself: Although I celebrated today with an enormous and buttery cookie from Prantl's Bakery in Market Square, my favorite bakery is Bartram House Bakery in Wexford. Their cookies, and every dessert, are heavenly. Although I have to secretly admit there will always be that soft spot for the tube of Nestle Tollhouse.

A bunch of other people simply said their favorite chocolate chip cookies were made by their wives or mothers (my mom isn't much of a baker). When I asked Bob Pompeani where his favorite place for CC cookies was, he just said "my wife's oven."
