Foursquare Tips

  • If sitting down to eat, check out the back room -- library full of cozy leather booths and a fireplace. Great for date night.
  • First it was Elaine's, now comes the Writing Room. A favorite stop for several celebs, make sure you done miss this fine place.
  • Gourmet food, attentive and friendly staff. Atmosphere is sophisticated without feeling stuffy. Decor is unique and very detailed. A great addition to the neighborhood.
  • Prepare yourself for the rolls before the meal, they will spoil your appetite if you let them. Also, service was fabulous. I'll be back.
  • 20% off drinks after 10pm!
  • Huckleberry cobbler is to die for!
  • Order the Indian summer...it goes down like juice. :). The fried chicken is also a great entree.
  • this is not your grandfather's Elaines. bar room is loud. main dining somewhat loud. back library is quiet. so far so good on the food. Try the roasted vegetables and gnocchi.
  • Friendly bar staff, great for early dinner and relaxation towards the right-side of the restaurant in the crescent booths...delish ribs app, bread rolls and fried chicken

  • Great new place. Micheal and Susi Glick the owners are great
  • the gnocchi is divine
  • Excellent "New" American cuisine! Great ambience, especially in the back room library complete with fireplace. Got there after work and by the time I left it was packed and buzzing. Highly recommend.
  • New ambiance for the UES.
  • Good pastry plate to start. Good fried chicken
  • Their complementary pretzel-like bread rolls were my favorite part about this place, but they sadly got rid of them. Now it's just overpriced small portions of food--you're paying for the vibe.
  • Cool atmosphere. Great food
  • The tomato risotto was to die for; pork chop was among the best I've ever had. Really cute inside. Atmosphere strikes the right balance between casual and elegant.
  • Trying to be a little fancier than it is, but a nice atmosphere for drinks and a decent brunch.
