WhiskeyFest 2012: The Whiskies To Take Home

WhiskeyFest is upon us in New York, and there's no shortage of excellent whiskies to try. From Scotland to Ireland, Kentucky to Tennessee, the 250 whiskies on offer this weekend are among the world's best. Don't have a ticket? Here's a few of the spirits featured this weekend, so you can pretend you're drinking among the whiskey gods, too.

Johnnie Walker Double Black: The product of Master Blender Matthew Crow, the Double Black label takes premium blended whiskey to a whole new level. The hand-selected whiskies in the Double Black are aged in a charred oak barrels; it's got the smoky flavor that Johnnie Walker Black is known for but with a sweet, vanilla creaminess.

Gold Bowmore: If you're lucky enough to get your hands on one of the 700 bottles, you're in luck: the 44-year-old single malt Scotch whisky from Islay is a treat. Aged in bourbon barrels, the Scotch is something of a fruity, honey, and smoky peat taste.

Elijah Craig 20-Year-Old: It's a single barrel, Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey that was named the best American whiskey by Whiskey Advocate. It's a complex spirit with notes of oak, much like the 12-year-old Elijah Craig.
