PHILADELPHIA (CBS) —  A hybrid restaurant/butcher shop, Kensington Quarters, is now open at 1310 Frankford Avenue.

"We decided that it would be really awesome to put a whole-animal, sustainable butcher shop, sourced locally, inside the place," says owner Michael Pasquarello (top photo).  "And having those proteins mixed in with locally sourced produces, on a revolving, changing menu, seemed to be the way it was always done before."

Meanwhile, chef Chip Roman will be heading the seventh annual "Chefs For Silver Springs" dinner, on November 7th, at the Green Valley Country Club, in Lafayette Hill, Pa.

"We'll do a five-course tasting with wine pairings.  Lots of hors d'oeuvres.  There's also a silent auction," he says.

Also, the first-ever "Cake Pop Convention" takes place November 7th through 9th at the Courtyard Marriott, next to City Hall.

"We have people coming from eight different countries!" notes organizer Kim Celano.

"We all know each other through Instagram, so that's how my events started," she explains.
