West Elm Market's Home Tool Kit

West Elm, the beloved child company of Williams-Sonoma, is going all locavore on us. With its new concept, West Elm Market, they're giving customers the tools to build up their homes with products in four major categories — Kitchen, Garden, Care & Repair, and Personal Care — from local vendors.

The brand's first store launched in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Oct. 23 and eight new shops-in-shops concepts are soon to follow in major cities including Costa Mesa, Calif., Dallas, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Nashville, New York City, Seattle, and Toronto this month.

"We were inspired by the common sense of shop keeping of the classic general store to develop a collection of genuine and useful household goods that make even the most practical chore a little more enjoyable," said West Elm president Jim Brett.

As for what's stocking their shelves, each store will have a well curated selection of products for the home from its local community. In the DUMBO flagship there are gourmet nut butters from Big Spoon Roasters, Schmidt Bros. knives, and The Original GreenPan line, as well as an entire eco-friendly section among a ton of other brands scattered the store. While local vendors are exclusive to each city's store, you can shop West Elm Market here for the tools you'll need for your home.
