About $1 million worth of renovations went into the restaurant to create a "sleeker, more modern look," consisting of navy colors, leather booths, and marble countertops. Also, the bar moved closer to the door, where it was when it first opened in 1873.
Z BAR Restaurant & Sky-Lounge: A "one-of-a-kind rooftop dining experience," Z BAR is open with "cuisine, cocktails, and ambience that go above and beyond," according to a press release. Executive chef Ricardo Cardona, who was a finalist on Food Network’s Chopped and the personal chef to the New York Yankees, brings more than 20 years of experience in Latin, French, and American cuisines. The restaurant’s menu features Euro-Latino cuisine such as lobster ceviche, spicy shrimp tacos, and pumpkin seed-crusted Scottish salmon.
