Weekly Opening Report: The Week Of July 1, 2013

Every week, we take a look at some of the restaurants that have opened or will soon open across the country. Here's this week's roundup:

Bridgehampton, NY
Topping Rose House: The Bridgehampton restaurant and hotel is now open, according to the press release. Chef Tom Colicchio brings seasonal American cuisine to the restaurant, and uses produce from the Topping Rose Farm, local farms, ranches, and fish from local fishermen. There is also a 25-seat Bar Room by Topping Rose House.

Chicago, IL
Sofi Restaurant & Bar: Sofi opens in Chicago this Friday, featuring northern Italian fine cuisine, with dishes such as fresh cavatelli in pecorino and black pepper sauce, fish stew Tuscan style, and pork chop saltimbocca. The full bar will open later, Eater Chicago reported.

Cincinnati, OH
Boca: This restaurant, which opened in May, brings affordable French and Italian fine dining. Chef and owner David Falk brings housemade pastas, Mediterranean-inspired fish, and steak to the Cincinnati community, according to the release.

Sotto: Sotto opened in March and is located beneath Boca. The restaurant serves rustic Italian cuisine, such as classic antipasta, bruschetta, wood-roasted branzino, and short rib cappellacci. The dishes go with table wines that are imported from Italy.

Denver, CO
Udi's: Udi's opened on July 3rd, but will officially open on July 8th, according to Eater Denver. The restaurant will serve Israeli fare like falafel, flatbreads, and Chef Robin Baron's family Jerusalem Chicken recipe.

Las Vegas, NV
Martorano's: Cook, DJ, and cookbook author Steve Martorano will bring his Italian food to a second Las Vegas location in Paris Las Vegas by early 2014, the press release said. The restaurant will feature dishes from his original restaurant in Florida, such as the "World Famous Homemade Meatballs."

Pizza Rock: The 11-time World Pizza Champion Tony Gemignani is opening a pizza restaurant later this summer, according to a release. The restaurant will offer Italian and American pizza styles, pastas, calzones, Stromboli, salads, and handcrafted cocktails, wine, and beer.

New York, NY
Dolce Sweetness in Life Gelateria: According to a release, the gelato store is now open in West Village, and there's over fifty handmade gelato and sorbet flavors, such as pecan, pistachio, biscotti, Nutella, hazelnut, rice pudding flavor, and more. Their olive oil flavor is made from Oliato Extra Virgin Olive Oil from owner Salvatore Potestio's family olive grove in Italy. Waffle cones are made in-store and there are also imported Italian cones and brioche available.

Goodfella's: The Gramcery location, which opened two weeks ago, serves wood-fired oven-baked pizza as well as beer and wine, a press release reported. Aside from their award-winning pizza, Goodfella's also has appetizers such as mussels marinara, soups like lobster bisque, paninis, pasta, housemade rosemary potato chips, and more.

North Charleston, SC
Basico: The restaurant opened its doors on July 4th, and takes a modern twist to the traditional taqueria, according to a release. The menus will change often and incorporate various parts of animals and local produce, including vegetables that are grown in the garden right beside the restaurant. Basico serves dishes such as torta de cabesa, chorizo tacos, and cochinita pibil.

Washington, D.C.
Kapnos: According to Eater DC, the Greek restaurant will open on Friday, serving spit-fired meats like the marinated spring lamb and drinks at the bar, such as "lions milk" and housemade sodas like blackberry ginger beer.

Bearnaise: Top Chef Spike Mendelsohn is opening Bearnaise on Friday. The eatery will serve steak, unlimited fries, and wine, Eater DC reported.
