Foursquare Tips

  • Definitely catch Elaine Stritch and Bernadette Peters in Night Music.
  • It is impossible not to have a great time at this hilarious, smart and sexy new musical! Give it up for Lysistrata Jones!
  • It's a great space, but even as someone who usually gets the cheap seats in the mezzanine I can't recommend the balcony level.
  • A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder
  • Tip your usher they appreciate it.
  • Lovely theatre but seats are extremely small. I will have to keep it in mind and order an aisle seat in the future.
  • On the smaller side with a pretty steep mezzanine. Every seat is good.
  • Housed number of productions early 1970s, even screened adult films before becoming children's theater named in honor of Robert F. Kennedy in 1973. The last production staged at the Ritz was Chu Chem
  • Originally, the Ritz Theatre designed in 1921. ABC operated as radio/TV studio 1943-65. Remained vacant 1965--71. Reopened w/ musical Soon, book by Martin Duberman, closing after 3 performances.
  • On March 5, 1990, the theatre reopened after a $2 million restoration now renamed for theater critic Walter Kerr with August Wilson's "The Piano Lesson."
  • Since 1990, 7 winners of Best Play Tony: "Angels in America: Millennium Approaches," "Angels in America: Perestroika," "Love! Valour! Compassion!," "Proof," "Take Me Out," "Doubt," & "Clybourne Park"
  • One of the smaller auditoriums in the Theater District, it seats 975.
  • The mezzanine seating here is the best view of the stage.
  • Not the best designed theater. Some Orchestra seats have partial view because of the way mezzanine level is designed and bathroom is weirdly position. Seat size is reasonable.
  • The Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder is a fantastic broadway show. The stage blocking was very creative.
  • There's just barely enough room for a small bag at your feet, but if you have a bulky coat prepare to be cramped in the incredibly narrow seats.
  • A Gentlemans Guide to love & murder: go see it. Great play, great laugh, enjoyed every Minute of it.
  • There is absolutely no leg room in the mezzanine :(
  • Increible! No se la deben perder una belleza!
  • Seeing Clybourne Park!
