Von Trapp's Lager Launch Party

A press release announced that Von Trapp's, Seattle's biggest bier hall, will be introducing its new Helles Lager on Saturday, June 15 from 2 to 6 p.m. The event will take you back to an old school bier hall, featuring big barrels full of the new Halles Lager up on the counter. Half liters will be poured for $3.

The new German lager was brewed by "the only German brewery in the Rockies," Bayern Brewing. Owner and Master Brewmeister of Bayern Brewing Juergen Knoller created the new lager using traditional German brewing equipment and techniques.

Local Bavarian-style band The Happy Hans will be playing Austrian music from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Expect lots of yodeling and lederhosen. Knoller will be joining Von Trapp's by coming down for the celebration as well.

In addition to the Helles Lager, Von Trapp's features 24 European and northwestern beers. Authentic Bavarian fare, including house-made sausages and pretzels, help create a genuine European feeling.

Von Trapp's is open weekdays from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. and weekends from 12 p.m. to 2 a.m. With happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. weekdays and 12 to 4 p.m. on weekends. Dinner is served from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. with a late night menu that runs from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
