About Me
The Baoery was started by a group of food-loving friends who decided that the meals made in their kitchen should be shared with friends, lovers and the equally food-obsessed. What started off as informal dinner parties became recurring cooking ventures, and ideas were gradually dreamed up from the gatherings. One of the ideas was doing a dim sum-style bun, which sparked the idea for selling savory, gourmet baos. It was perfect because it allowed for a lot of different possibilities, from savory fillings to sweet ones, and it also very much resonated with everyone's Asian roots. As for the name, The Baoery is a cheeky nod to the actual venue in New York City as well as the downtown culture it represents."

We like to use the Lotus brand of baos, which can be found at any specialty Chinese food market, to make these buns, but feel free to use whatever brand you prefer (or attempt to make them yourselves!).
