U.S. Airways Introduces Pre-Order Meals

U.S. Airways have just announced an exciting new pre order premium meal option for international passengers traveling from Philadelphia and Charlotte. The meals, which are available for purchase to over 24 destinations in Europe, the Middle East and South America, makes U.S. Airways the first American based carrier to offer such services to their international passengers.

Teaming up with Air Meals, U.S. Airways offers two deluxe menu options (and yes before you ask there is a vegetarian option available too!). The DineFresh program allows customers to choose from either a vegetarian meal comprising of a Caprese salad with balsamic dressing, portobello mushroom tortellini, a Mediterranean style appetizer and a turtle cheesecake for dessert. Feel like something which has a dash of protein? The second meal option consists of citrus-marinated chicken skewers, seasonal grilled vegetables, a classic shrimp cocktail and crème brûlée cheesecake!

Adam Bauer CEO of Air Meals says “We’re very excited for travelers. It’s what they’ve wanted for a while now. Now, the e-commerce capability is here to make it happen – that’s Air Meals’ role of which we’re glad to provide and be a part of this.”

The new options really enhance the airline’s current complimentary meal offerings and U.S. Airways have really set the bar higher on multiple levels including: the meals, packaging, wine options, and their price point.

Meals must be pre-ordered and pre-paid up to 24 hours prior to the flight. They are also priced very competitively at $19.99. If your over 21 years of age you will also receive a complimentary choice of chardonnay, merlot or cabernet sauvignon wine.

In addition, U.S. Airways have also introduced several new items to the MarketPlace, a selection of snacks, meals and drinks which are available for purchase on domestic and international flights.
Meals can be pre-ordered to 17 destinations from Philadelphia and seven destinations from Charlotte.
