Foursquare Tips

  • Come here for a boozy reading experience. These sisters've got 4 beers on tap, wine by the glass, and excellent under-$10 housemade jerky (marinated in an apple cider/pineapple juice brine).
  • This place is freaking cute! And the people here are nice.
  • The roasted wild boar sausage with Yukon gold potatoes in garlic and rosemary oil is to die for, and the homemade beef jerky makes Slim Jim cry in shame.
  • Chamomile old fashioned. Best thing in the house :)
  • Great atmosphere, great bartender, and great food! The potato chips and dip are delicious!
  • New Yorkers, get the back 40 - delicious and brings you back to the east village!
  • Here on Tuesday to Friday they do happy hour from 4 pm to 6 pm, and the deal is $3 draft beers, and $5 cocktails, which means their delicious concoctions are half price. Get there early for a seat.
  • Don't forget to shut the door on your way in and out.
  • Ask for the Dark Knight. It's not on the menu anymore, but it's crazy-delicious: gin, Aperol, Campari, and some housemade cherry-balsamic vermouth magic.
  • Get the deviled eggs topped with fried capers!!!
  • Def get the chips and creme Fraiche and any of the cocktails - amazing!!
  • A cozy place to chat and have some amazing cocktails in the evening.
  • This tiny Hayes Valley haven brings a feminine touch to the classic via its worshipped Chamomile Old Fashioned, where dry chamomile flowers are infused in Old Forester 86 Bourbon.
  • Totally ok to sit here, drink and read a book (during the day at least)
  • With an unfussy cocktail list and wines by the carafe, the cozy space feels as though it was dreamed up as the perfect spot to have a few drinks over simple plates of food that stuck in your teeth.
  • The tomato soup is delicious :3 I'll be back for more
  • I daydream about the Dark Matter. It's that good.
  • The duck cassoulet is a maze ing.
  • Bring in a book to leave for their free book exchange.
  • Perfect for a quiet Sunday brunch.
