Treats Truck: Traveling Treats Have Never Tasted So Sweet

The Treats Truck is like the best school bake sale ever — on wheels. The dark gray truck emblazoned with a simple red, white, and blue diamond-shaped logo sells a plethora of baked goods, from brownies and cupcakes to Rice Krispies treats and sandwich cookies. Its routine arrival in the Flatiron neighborhood, Union Square, and other Manhattan spots conjures up the childhood excitement of running outside after hearing the luring chimes of an ice cream truck. There's no music here, just dozens of colorful confections to entice passersby.

Baked fresh each day, the Treats Truck goodies include giant M&M's peanut butter Rice Krispies treats, moist and chewy chocolate and vanilla sandwich cookies stuffed with rich buttercream frosting, and subtly spicy Spanish chocolate brownies. In addition to the standard offerings, there are also seasonal and daily specials like ginger cookies or pumpkin spice cake. The specials are written on a dry-erase board and the staff reminds customers which products contain nuts for those who may be allergic. There's a free punch card Treats Truck patrons can request, which helps them earn free treats.

For those who can't wait for the Treats Truck to roll by, the Treats Truck Stop is a bakery and café. The shop in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, sells sandwiches like the Super Duper Egg Sandwich and the Daily Deluxe Grilled Cheese, salads, and, of course, lots and lots of treats. Track the Treats Truck by following them on Twitter @TheTreatsTruck or by calling 212-691-5226.
