BLT Brings The Modern American Steakhouse To Scottsdale

Chef Laurent Tourondel's swanky Scottsdale outpost of BLT brings big rich beef flavors and unique steakhouse sides to the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn.

The massive bar and restaurant are surrounded by windows providing beautiful views of Camelback Mountain, and also includes a wall-sized chalkboard, round overhead lights, cozy circular booths, and wooden floors and tables.

One of the best menu items are the enormous popovers. Crusty outside and warm and airy inside, these delicious treats are reason enough to visit BLT. Appetizers include a lobster cobb salad, shrimp cocktail, burrata and tomato salad, grilled double-cut bacon, tuna tartare, hamachi, oysters, and Dungeness crab cakes.

In addition to hanger steak, New York strip, ribeye, and filets, BLT also offers an 8- and 12-ounce wagyu ribeye and a 10-ounce wagyu skirt steak. Other main courses include spiced lamb chops, lemon rosemary chicken, braised short ribs, Dover sole, branzino, swordfish, lobster, and shrimp and grits. Nine steak sauces are also on the menu, such as barbecue, steak, mustard, béarnaise, Roquefort, peppercorn, horseradish, chimichurri, and red wine.

Sides include fontina-baked, gratin, French-fried, and jalapeño mashed potatoes; creamy spinach; tomatoes Provencal; charred cauliflower; onion rings; mac and cheese; and stuffed mushroom caps.

Desserts are large and delicious, like the apple pie with brown butter ice cream, crepe soufflé with passion fruit sauce, peanut butter and chocolate mousse, carrot cake with ginger ice cream, and a bittersweet chocolate tart.

A meal at BLT is expensive, but given the large menu selection and high-quality cuisine, it's definitely worth the price.
