The creamy yet spicy Jalapeñotini might be just enough to bring you to Carlos Hernández’s restaurant Tinto formerly his own Meigas, now readapted into the absolutely finest tapas in Connecticut. Even down to the white triptych plates, Hernández has thoughtfully recreated his own former restaurant. The space is a stunning 4,000-square-feet with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out on Wall Street in East Norwalk, which is equidistant from northern and southern Connecticut. There is a romantic sense here in a place that has thought a lot about the subtle look of the lights, enhanced by a street lighting glow that adds an urban aura.

A great place for drinking wine, especially if you can get the railing seat that looks out on 20th. Just settle in and watch the world go by.

Too late at night to really enjoy a great meal.
Get the truffled chestnut soup and thank me later.
You gotta try to Pulpo! Best in town.
Fresh seafood with awesome sauce. However, the dish is a bit too small.
Amada's pricier sibling. Also great Spanish small plates, this time Pintxos. Foursquare says it's a breakfast spot, but I've only done dinner.
The sopa de castano was fantastic. avoid sitting upstairs because of the smoke from kitchen.
Watch out for the soap dispenser in the first bathroom. It will get ya.
Drawing inspiration from the rich cultural and culinary traditions of Basque country, Tinto is tantalizing Northern Spanish cuisine at its finest. Try the duck confit montadito.
