Timbaland To Release Sparkling Liqueur

Celebrities need to do it all these days. They need to act, sing, have a great wardrobe, a cute child  and now they need their own liquor brand. Timbaland, the multi-platinum, grammy award-winning producer, just announced his venture into the alcohol business with LeSUTRA, a line of sparkling liqueurs.

To help make this new line a success, he's partnered up with Tom Bruno, co-founder of Grey Goose, and Ryan Rosenberg, a wine distribution expert. The liqueur will be available in four different flavors: blueberry, strawberry, grape and peach. To make the drink, a chardonnay base will be infused with Grey Goose vodka and flavor. While this isn't the first sparkling liqueur released, Timbaland's name will certainly help popularize the brand.  Those involved in its creation don't have any trouble sharing how groundbreaking this drink will be. Timbaland told All About Hip Hop, "Everything that I create is groundbreaking and LeSUTRA is no different." Bruno also expressed his extreme faith in the budding brand, "It is really rare to find a brand with so much potential and unique craftsmanship. From the recipe formula and luxury packaging to the marketing presence and overall impact of a partner like Timbaland, we have a champion in LeSUTRA." (People who enjoy a modest alcohol might want to look elsewhere.) Despite its luxury look, the bottles range from $20 to $30.

And if you're thinking that the drink kind of sounds like the Kama Sutra, you're not mistaken. Not only does the name reference the Kama Sutra, the brand's website says that drink itself is inspired by it because they hope that the liqueur will bring people together. We'll leave it to the consumer to decide exactly how that will play out.

To celebrate the release of the drink, Timbaland will be holding a concert in Miami over Labor Day weekend. The drink will be available on the East Coast in late summer and nationwide by 2013.
