Tasha's To Do List: Oct. 17-19

FORT WORTH (KRLD) – From haunted houses to concerts and food, there's a lot happening in North Texas this weekend! Here are some suggestions if you're looking to be adventurous.

– Now through November 2, you can experience an even scarier side of Six Flags Over Texas with Fright Fest. This thing has five bone-chilling haunted houses, including the ALL NEW Zombie Infestation. For the kiddos, there are costume contests, scary-oke, and a trick or treat trail featuring Bugs Bunny and all of his friends in Bugs Bunny Boomtown. For the big kids, there is Cirkus Berzerkus, Cadaver Hall Asylum, Piggy's Blood Shed, Total Darkness, Zombie Infestation, Texas Scare-a-tory, Voodoo Swamp and The Lost Hollows.

– Get some sweet pooch smooches and help needy dogs find forever homes at the State Fair of Texas. The Kissing and Hugging Booth at the D.R. Horton Bark at the Park is open and DFW Rescue Me will be at the State Fair of Texas for the entire run. To find the booth if you are facing the Main Stage, turn left and walk towards the Centennial Building. They are the last booth on the left!

Dallas ComicCon Fan Days is happening this weekend at the Irving Convention Center. The Lord of the Rings' Sean Astin and Elijah Wood are on the schedule as well as Adam West and Burt Ward (TV's Batman and Robin), Alex Kingston (Dr. Who), and Kevin Sorbo (Hercules), among others.

– The Bloomin' Bluegrass Festival & Chili Cook-Off is on the way this weekend, Oct 17 at Farmers Branch Historical Park. Enjoy great bluegrass music from Grand Ole Opry stars and Grammy nominees as well as steaming hot chili at this free event.

– The Harvest Moon Festival is happening this Saturday in Historic Downtown Granbury Square. Besides digging on the moon, you can also buy tons of stuff like Arts & crafts and food.

– Friday is the premier of the Texas Ballet Theater's The Sleeping Beauty at Bass Hall. Texas Ballet Theater is joined by the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra in this retelling of the French version of the story by Charles Perrault. For the Sunday matinee performance, you're invited to put on your favorite princess wear for "Tutus and Tiaras."

Cool Thursdays at the Dallas Arboretum features western swing with "Asleep at the Wheel". The costume contest, fittingly enough, is the "I was country when country wasn't cool" Award. Come dressed in western gear!
