Sweet Hospitality Group,  the premier concessionaire and caterers for on- and off-Broadway and private clients nationwide, has been adding its dramatic, delicious touch to theaters, parties, and events for nearly 30 years. In honor of the upcoming holiday season, their mixologist has created "Holiday Spirit," a unique cocktail that will have most anyone singing and dancing like Neil Patrick Harris at the Tony Awards in no time!

Ingredients
  • 2 ounce 10 cane rum (or bacardi)
  • 3 ounce cranberry-fig shrub*
  • ginger beer (or ginger ale)
  • seltzer
  • 1 ounce ruby port
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon black peppercorns
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cup unsweetened cranberry juice
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 10 dried black mission figs, coarsely chopped
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
Directions
  1. Fill a 16-ounce glass with ice.
  2. Add rum, port, and shrub.
  3. Top with half ginger beer and half seltzer to fill.
  4. Combine water, vinegar, and sugars and whisk or shake until mostly dissolved.
  5. Add cranberry juice, figs, rosemary, and reppercorns and mix well to combine.
  6. Refrigerate for 24-28 hours and strain to remove solids before using.
  7. *Makes 1 quart. The shrub can be refrigerated and will keep for up to 1 week.
