Study Finds 'Very Bright' People Drink More

"An intelligent man is sometimes forced to be drunk to spend time with his fools," Ernest Hemingway once said – and he may have been on to something.

In two recent studies performed by groups in the United States and United Kingdom, researchers found that "very bright" people drank a larger amount of alcohol, more often, according to Discovery News.

The study categorized children by intelligence, ranging from "very bright" to "very dull." They were observed later on in life (the United Kingdom study checked in from the ages of 20 to 40), and the smarter ones proved to drink more as adults. No one is exactly sure yet why these patterns exist in both countries' some believe it to be an evolutionary trait, but the results  are at least an excuse to rationalize your decisions, you bar regulars).
