Starbucks, Whole Foods Are Among World's Most Ethical Companies

Well, here's a good reason to drink Starbucks (other than the fact that it's everywhere): the coffee (and now juice bar) company has made it onto Ethisphere Institute's World's Most Ethical List for the sixth year in a row.

Overall, 145 companies made the list, up from last year's 110. Kellogg, PepsiCo, Solae, Stonyfield, Wegmans, Safeway, Costco, and Whole Foods also made the cut.

According to the web site, "WME honorees not only promote ethical business standards and practices internally, they exceed legal compliance minimums and shape future industry standards by introducing best practices today."

The company makes ranking based on "ethics and compliance programs; reputation, leadership and innovation; governance; corporate citizenship and responsibility; and culture of ethics," LiveScience reports.
