Starbucks Opens First Juice Bar

Coffee giant Starbucks announced its plan to go into juicing late last year, and today, the company is opening its very first juice bar in Bellevue, Wash.

USA Today reports that the juice bar, with "mostly white walls, light woods, and marble countertops," serves juices customized from eight taps.

A juice and salad or sandwich combo could cost some $20, with $7.99 for a 16-ounce juice and $8.25 for a salad. Smoothies are slightly cheaper at $6.99.

Sandwich "bowls" (channeling Chipotle, are we?) apparently costs some $8.75, and a wrap costs $7.50.

Of course, the king of blended drinks will serve juices like "Field of Greens," with greens, ginger, apple, and cucumber. But USA Today is quick to note that there isn't any fancy coffee lingo here: "No signage. No cups. No colors. No Grande. No Venti. No Trenta... The coffee cup is logo-less."

We're sure, however, that there will be talks of boosts and protein shakes as time goes on. In the meantime, Evolution Fresh may still have some kinks to work out, especially since HuffPo pointed out that a promotional photo had misspelled the word "vegetable." The culprit? A sign reading, "Most fruits and vegatables [sic] are: fat and cholesterol free."
