Spring's New Food TV Shows Slideshow
For: The Top Chef: Just Desserts fan looking for a new sweet show

Where: CBS
CBS tries their hand at a competitive cooking show, taking in amateur bakers and pitting them against each other to be judged by Marcela Valladolid (Food Network) and Paul Hollywood (U.K.'s The Great British Bake Off). Not exactly blockbuster names, but we're still expecting plenty of layered chocolate cakes and gorgeous tarts.
'Hannibal'
For: The scary movie food lover
When: April 4, 10 p.m.
Where: NBC
This isn't technically a food show, but who says it all has to be based on reality? The classic character Hannibal gets reimagined as a wine and food connoisseur, who is often shown cooking instead of killing, serving up a loin dish with a Cumberland sauce, hosting opulent dinner parties, and pouring some red wine. Bonus points since the producers reportedly tapped José Andrés to advise the crew and actors on food preparation and presentation. Following the noise-to-tail trend, Andrés even promises that every body part will be used.
'Knife Fight'
For: The bravado-loving bro who wants to be BFFs with the chefs

Where: Esquire
Top Chef veteran Ilan Hall adorably hosts an "underground" battle of chefs, bringing in working chefs to compete with three surprise ingredients in one hour. Watch if you're tired of hearing, "Please pack your knives and go," and want to hear things more like, "Did your mother not love you when you were growing up?" Rowdy crowds, fire tricks, and little-known ingredients abound.
'Parts Unknown'
For: The Anthony Bourdain enthusiast
When: April 14, 9 p.m.
Where: CNN
Food personality bad boy Anthony Bourdain jumps ship to CNN, where he "travels across the globe to uncover little-known areas of the world and celebrate diverse cultures by exploring food and dining rituals." First up, Myanmar, then Libya, Colombia, and even Koreatown in Los Angeles.
Burger Land
For: The true American
When: April 15, 10 p.m.
Where: Travel Channel
George Motz visits burger havens across the country, showcasing cities in New Mexico, Illinois, and Louisiana, to name a few, and their regional burger takes. There's a hot dog-burger combo in Los Angeles, Latin-influenced burgers with plantains in Miami, and the perfect farm-to-table burger in the LA farmers' market.
America's Best Bites
For: Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives lovers tired of Fieri's slang
When: April 20, 4:30 p.m.
Where: Cooking Channel
Cooking Channel picks up this series from Southern gal Natalie Forte, who finds local eateries across the country à la Guy Fieri. Sure, it's not prime time, but it's got the same local, family-friendly feel all purportedly suggested by the general public via social media.
'Rebel Eats'
For: The noncommittal viewer
When: March 30, 10 p.m.
Where: Food Network
Do or Dine chef Justin Warner crams a road trip through Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia into a one-hour special, showcasing moonshine, bacon beer, barbecue in a jar, and jellyfish pasta. You're taking the chef who perfected foie gras donuts, giving him $300 and a car, and filming it all. It's bound to be good.
'John Besh's Family Table'
For: The family cook
When: April 6
Where: American Public Television
Serious quality home cooking down south in Louisiana, from friendly family guy John Besh (Restaurant August). Theres boat driving, some jazz music, and plenty of seafood, making us want to pick up and move to New Orleans.
