Sofitel So Singapore Steps Onto The Hotel Scene With Karl Lagerfeld Graphic Touches
The head designer breathing life into the infamous Chanel brand, Karl Lagerfeld has been tapped to work with the new Sofitel So Singapore to add his magic with stylish graphic touches positioned around the property. In addition to Lagerfeld's impressive fashion and aesthetic fixtures, the hotel teamed with MIAJA Design Group to decorate and design interior elements, including a welcoming atrium bathed in light, distinctive artworks throughout the property and themed wings like So Hip and So Heritage, much of which have been inspired by the opulence of 19th century French design.
Some of the items featured at the hotel will be the BooKube, an exclusive art piece bookend bearing The Lion's Seal emblem as well as a quote from the Lagerfeld; hotel collateral bearing the exclusively-designed Lion's Seal emblem on correspondence cards and check-in folders, doorknockers and more; the original sketch of the emblem on a leather bound sketchbook and a bathrobe with the red and white The Lion's Seal embroidery.
Situated in a historic building first constructed in 1927, Sofitel So Singapore features a spa, fine dining restaurant, golf access and spacious accommodations. Wanting to keep up with the digital age, the hotel implemented some notable tech features like Apple-based technology suites in every room, iPad minis for room control and personal-use iPhones.
The hotel's signature restaurant and bar Xperience is promising to be a stellar hotspot for sophisticated travelers and locals alike. Described as an "experiential and interactive culinary journey of the senses," it offers patrons a number of menus based around flavors and textures like smoky, silky, crunchy, juicy, spicy among others. Likewise, to match the tastes and dining preferences of nearly everyone, the restaurant offers three sizes for dishes to accommodate tasters, sharers and single-plate eaters.
HI-SO, the elite rooftop bar, has unparalleled 360-degree views of Singapore and takes designer cocktails to the next level. With a beach-club setting, guests can chill in cabanas, marvel at the golden-tiled pool or just socialize and dance under the stars.
In celebration of the recent opening, there are some specials currently available. Weekends@So starts at $599 for two and comes with Saturday Champagne brunch, accommodations and an all-day breakfast on Sunday. Likewise, for the first 100 days of the hotel's opening, prospective guests can book to receive $100 in dining and drink credit.
