Sodastream Steals The Show After The Super Bowl

Two deliverymen rush into a supermarket to deliver mass amounts of 2-liter soda bottles. It's Coca-Cola vs. Pepsi. Who will win?

Neither, apparently, because the bottles end up exploding in the deliverymen's faces. The winner was the guy sitting at home making his own soda with SodaStream

This comedic battle of two soda deliverymen was supposed to air on Sunday night as SodaStream's big Super Bowl ad. However, a different, less aggressive SodaStream ad aired instead, and SodaStream was not pleased. So they decided to air it themselves on the Internet.

SodaStream's decision to air the commercial was one bold move of environmental activism, which is ultimately the business' purpose. Their DIY at-home soda-making kit is an "Active Green" product that allows consumers to make and drink their favorite soft drinks while only using one bottle. The flavor collection is extensive and consists of regular and diet soda flavors, Kool-Aid, Country Time, Crystal Light, sparkling teas, sparkling "naturals" (containing no artificial flavors, sweeteners or preservatives), energy drinks, and flavored MyWater.

Prior to the banning of the Super Bowl ad, it seemed that most people were sticking to the convenient "buy five bottles a day" mechanism of drinking their preferred soft drinks. However, now that SodaStream daringly publicized the banned ad online, they have gained tons of publicity with more than 4 million views of the commercial on YouTube. Who knows, maybe this little stunt could spark a national homemade soda craze.
