Shake Shack Upper East Side
New York NY 10028

Slowly, Danny Meyer's Shake Shack is changing the landscape of the burger world. It started in Madison Square Park in 2001, with a hot dog cart created by Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group to support the Madison Square Park Conservancy's first art installation. Fans of the cart lined up for three summers until USHG won the bid to open a permanent park kiosk. Then the real fun (and lines) started. The "roadside burger joint" started serving incredibly juicy burgers on potato rolls and rich, thick, creamy custards with mix-ins (concretes), and the best Chicago-style hot dog outside the Windy City. It took until 2007 for the Shack to stay open through winter, but it's since become a New York institution — and spread beyond its borders, immediately ranking among those locales best burgers. Menu additions, mash-ups, and location-specific items have followed at newly launched Shacks in New York, Connecticut, Florida, D.C., Philadelphia, the Middle East, and now London. Location specific items at the Shake Shack Upper East Side Shake Shack include Coffee Bean Brownie, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunchcrete, and Black & White Cookie concretes. — Arthur Bovino, 11/20/2012

Not to be missed: French fries dipped in salted caramel, a.k.a. the stuff stoner dreams are made of.
The location is what makes this Shake Shack great. If there's no dining room inside, get your food to-go and devour it on a bench in nearby Central Park.

Like all the other Shacks, this one features a bunch of blended concretes inspired the 'hood, and which you can only get here—check out the Pineapple Upper East Side Cake (vanilla custard with pineapp
Double Shack Burger, fries an a black and white shake. You can't go wrong.
Wait in the line. Trust us, you'll forget all about it after you have the Shack burger with fries or the 'Shroom burger with cheese fries and a milk shake.
Quite possibly the worst seating situation in all the city... you're forced to either vulture over a table, or eat outside in 10 degree weather.
Finally! A Shake Shack with a completely non-smoking outdoor seating area! Thank you, SS!!!
This should not be on my way home. It's dangerous. Someone should do something before I hurt myself.
This is a place where people "go out" for dinner that eat McDonalds regularly.
Shroom Burger it's the best vegetarian burger in the whole world. Try it!
Get the Pumpkin Pie Oh My concrete while it lasts.
Shake stack!
Tried for a third time despite promises to myself. Despite all the hype, I still find ABSOLUTELY NO redeeming features whatsoever here. Don't waste your time!
No line right now!
Shroom burgers are delicious, but their burgers are so small!
Be aggressive with getting a table.
Outside seating in the cold! Powerful heaters to keep you warm outdoors!
In my experience here, the burgers seem to be a little overdone as compared to other Shake Shack locations. Perhaps it is just growing pains? Something to keep an eye on!
Coldplay, John Mayer, and Jack Johnson playlist going? Yes please!
Best burgers I have ever had, nothing beats it. There's always a line up but it usually goes pretty fast. Don't forget to bring you dog since they have a doggy menu!
If your done eating, get up. Limited seating.
Oh my god! Every other veggi burger i tried befor was nothing comparing to Shake Shack Shroom Burger. Absolute yaam!! Also grilled cheese with everything is awesome!!
The bathroom is easily one of the best bathrooms to have sex in. Plenty of room for 3-7 people, little employee oversight.
