SOMMA WineSPA at the Fiesta Americana Grand

The SOMMA WineSPA at the Fiesta Americana Grand utilizes wine as the centerpiece of its spa treatments. Local wine and grapes are incorporated into massages, mud wraps, exfoliations, facials, and even special baths. Antioxidants from the wine rejuvenate and soothe skin.

Part of the experience at SOMMA WineSPA is the complimentary wine tasting that accompanies each treatment; visitors are treated to a tasting of various local wines paired with hors d'oeuvres. The tastings are guided by SOMMA WineSPA sommeliers, who tailor the pairings to each person's taste. The program, which began five years ago, arose out of a desire to showcase the quality of Mexico's wines. Prices for individual treatments range from $46 to $300.

One&Only Spa by ESPA at One&Only Palmilla

One&Only Spa by ESPA at One&Only Palmilla in Cabo San Lucas offers a signature ritual showcasing the benefits of chocolate, called the Palmilla Chocolate Synergy.

"The use of chocolate was chosen because of its history with our ancient Mayan, Aztec, and Olmec civilizations; the beverages and foods they prepared with it were considered as an elixir of life or 'food of the gods' due to its properties," said spa manager Barbara Olvera. During this two-hour treatment, the spa's most popular option, masseuses use chocolate oils to improve blood circulation, skin hydration, and mood while employing a variety of massage techniques, including Shiatsu, lymphatic drainage and sports massage. Prices for individual treatments range from $165 to $855.

Cactus Spa at the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar

Food, especially fruit, is used in many treatments at Cactus Spa at the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar in Cabo del Sol. The green coffee body wrap uses caffeine to combat cellulite, while the chocolate body wrap uses cocoa butter to moisturize and renew the skin. There's also the Mango Paradise treatment, which blends mango, passion fruit, and yogurt into a body wrap that firms and reinvigorates skin, and the Tropical Escape, which uses a base of papaya and pineapple to create an exfoliating wrap that rejuvenates skin. Prices for individual treatments range from $63 to $208.

Dreams Spa by Pevonia at Dreams Los Cabos

Like Cactus Spa and One&Only Spa by ESPA, Dreams Spa at the Dreams Los Cabos resort takes advantage of the benefits of chocolate, coffee, and tropical fruits in its spa treatments. The Chocolate Body Wrap utilizes chocolate and mint to moisturize and nourish the skin, while the Sculpting Green Coffee Wrap uses caffeine to stimulate skin cells and smooth out cellulite. There's a Mango-Passion Fruit Yogurt Wrap as well, which uses nutrients from the fruit to combat aging and revitalize dull skin. Dreams Spa also incorporates coffee into a special Coffee Seduction Pedicure, using a coffee scrub to brush off dead skin on the feet and soothe the skin. Prices for individual treatments range from $40 to $400.

Auberge Spa at Esperanza

The Auberge Spa at Esperanza in Los Cabos uses food in a number of its treatments, taking full advantage of the benefits of fruit to nourish the body. The fruit enzymes in the Papaya-Mango Body Polish focus on skin cell renewal and combined with cornmeal, the natural scrub sloughs off dead cells, leaving skin fresh. There's also the Grated Coconut and Lime Body Exfoliation (with an optional coconut bath), which uses creamy coconut flesh in a scrub as well as a milk bath. The cucumber-lime facial that comes as a part of the Sun-Baked Stone Massage uses the cooling properties of these vegetables to moisturize sunburned skin. The spa also offers facials with special masks made of aloe and cucumber, avocado, papaya, pineapple and mango, Baja lime, or melon. Perhaps the most interesting food-based treatment at the spa is the Mexican Beer and Lime Facial, which uses beer as a part of the pore-refining treatment. Prices for individual treatments range from $45 to $335.

The Tropical Body Treatment includes both coconut and mango to nourish the skin, while the Citrus Supreme Spa Ritual features an orange juice-based wrap that helps restore sun-damaged skin. Prices for individual treatments range from $52 to $350.
