On the Second Day of Christmas…

Celebrating the Twelve Days of Christmas The Daily Meal-style, with a food carol about some of New York City's best dishes.
DBGB Kitchen and Bar’s Omelette Norvegienne.

Technically, the Twelve Days of Christmas don’t start until Christmas Day, but we’re already in the spirit. To celebrate over the next ten days, here’s the carol, ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ The Daily Meal-style, featuring some New York City dishes enjoyed over the years that we’d be willing to sing about.

For the first line of the song we riffed on a Partridge in a Pear Tree. Today's line plays with the Two Turtle Doves verse.

What could be more appropriate for two lovebirds than a dessert for two? At right are two of our favorite sweet treats to be shared with the one you love: DBGB Kitchen & Bar’s Omelette Norvegienne and Dylan Prime’s Chocolate “Porterhouse.”

Today, our Christmas food carol would go:

On the second day of Christmas, my waiter brought to me...
Two desserts for two,
And Felidia’s pear ravioli.
