Scaramouche Restaurant: Pasta Bar & Incredible Desserts

Not only will you find world-class food at Scaramouche Restaurant in Toronto, but the panoramic views and wonderful dining experience offered are unprecedented, despite it's initially confusing location.

Scaramouche is found in an apartment building on Benvenuto Place, so expectations are typically pretty low when diners arrive. But its perfected dishes blow any negative preconceptions out of the water. Some of their most sought after dishes include Bufala mozzarella, venison that's wrapped in bacon and served with spaetzle, and a Quebec duck served with foie gras, duck pastrami, prunes, grapes, maple cider jelly, pickled wild leeks, sourdough toast, and vincotto, a sweet condiment with grape, plum, and spice tastes. It also offers a pasta bar that's a little more casual than the rest of restaurant with handmade pasta and various toppings.

Some people go just for the desserts, which include items like coconut cream pie covered in white chocolate shavings and chocolate sauce or the lemon poppy seed cake with Ontario strawberries, buttermilk sorbet, and meringue.

Mondays through Thursdays throughout the winter, Scaramouche offers a three-course prix menu for $62 with lobster as its main focus. The event is appropriately titled Lobsterlicious, and people scramble to get reservations for it each year. Whether it's for this event or just dinner or dessert, Scaramouche is an excellent place to dine in Toronto.
