Foursquare Tips

  • This track is just paradise in upstate NY.
  • Gates open 8AM. Best to reserve a picnic table/spot then. Saratoga tradition: Place something on table to reserve. No one will try to take it unless it's Travers Weekend. Top horse racing.
  • You can bring in your own food & drinks (no glass!). The on-track food selections are also really good with lots of diverse selections from local establishments.
  • If you don't have clubhouse access, it's hard to beat a high top table at the Post. You are close to everything; the Paddock, betting windows, the Veranda deck bar, and most importantly, Shake Shack.
  • an awesomely old timey track for watching the ponies. call ahead and reserve a table in the clubhouse and go to the terrace for best views. and you best eat fried chicken at Hattie's stand for lunch!
  • Lobster Hut! Yum! Have to try the Lobster Mac And Cheese. Pretty dang tasty!
  • Better luck tomorrow! :)
  • Note to self for next year: don't bet, you know absolutely nothing about horses save your money and buy a golf club instead.
  • Watch a race from the top of the stretch, try the fresh lemonade, visit the paddock and high-five a jockey on his/her way back to the Jocks' Room. Now, you only have another 196 things to experience!
  • 4 tents to the right of the main gate is a white tent. $5 for hot dog, soda, and Saratoga chips.
  • Take the Tram tour in the morning, breakfast is so so. Get here by 8am if you want a picnic table and make sure to watch at least one race from the top of the stretch!
  • Beautiful day at the Skidmore College Saratoga Classic Horse Show,
  • Most of the food is bad or pricey. Locate 5 Points Deli/Store. They make great, fresh subs. Grab a drink and some chips. Bring it with you. I prefer the ham and Swiss myself!
  • Place your bet on Danny Boy in the 5th
  • Come early. Bring a cooler of beers and park it by where the horses walk out. Race 5 exacta box 2 and 8. Do it blind!
  • Set up a "home base" but watch a race from every vantage point on the track!
  • So historic. Great track to catch the races. Only wish I had a few winners. Picturesque
  • Excellent racing!
