Ruffles Rolls Out Beer-Battered Onion Ring Flavored Chips

Frito-Lay launched its newest product offering last week, according to a press release: Ruffles MAX Beer-Battered Onion Ring flavored chips.

The chip was first introduced as a limited-time offering in late 2011, but now will be available nationwide.

"Guys live for those moments when they're hanging out together at a bar, diner or tailgate party trading epic stories and munching on their favorite snacks," Tony Matta, Frito-Lay America vice president of marketing, said in his best bro-speak. "Onion rings are one of those staple guy-get-together foods. We wanted to incorporate that flavor for guys to share for any impromptu gathering — just grab a bag off the shelf and throw a party with your crew."

This new product comes right as the winter season is (mercifully) winding down, and with St. Patrick's Day, spring break, and March Madness right on the horizon, this was as good a time as any to launch this new "MAX" flavor.

The "MAX" line incorporates flavors "inspired by real-foods guys love with the maximum taste guys want," according to the release.
