Newport, Oregon’s Rogue Brewing Sriracha Hot Stout Beer is the latest in trendy inspirations from hot pepper to donut inspired beers. Though details are scarce this new beer is set to bow this December and is likely the product of the Buckman Botanical Brewery at the Green Dragon who recently debuted a version of Sriracha Stout at Green Dragon’s Chili Con Chili festival.

Sriracha is a type of hot sauce or chili sauce made from a paste of chili peppers, distilled vinegar, garlic, sugar, and salt.[1] It is named after the coastal city of Si Racha, in Chonburi Province of eastern Thailand, where it was possibly first produced for dishes served at local seafood restaurants.[2] according to Wikipedia.

Sriracha is also a bone-a-fide cultural phenomenon inspiring hundreds of knock off sauces to a recipe book, a documentary and Sriracha flavored Lay’s Potato Chips, Jack in the Box Burgers and Vodka. I am surprised there has not been a beer before now but Rogue is the leaders and peanut butter/banana/jelly donut inspired beers so this is a natural fit.

That’s all for now but we will be sure to update on any Sriracha beer related news as we get it.
