Enjoy A Texas-Sized Fiesta At Cover 3 In Celebration Of Dad

Once upon a time, owners Matt Dodson and Doug Young were two Austinites who ventured off on their own from the popular Z'Tejas Mexican Restaurant. Living out the American dream, they opened up the upscale sports bar, Cover 3, located inside The Village Shopping Center, a hip foodie paradise that's anchored by the world famous Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. The term Cover 3 is a defensive scheme play in football, and makes any man who walks in automatically feel like a macho: bigger, faster, stronger, and handsomer.

Serving modern American cuisine, big screen televisions surround each wall providing a first class seat to watch your favorite game from any angle, including from the outdoor patio. Cover 3 pours a collection of beers on tap, including 50 types of bourbon from all over the world. It prides in handcrafted cocktails swirled with local pride such as Austin's own Tito's Handmade Vodka.

Executive chef Jose Gonzalez assembled this tower of chicken tinga nachos. At first glance, it looks like a very busy edible volcano. The thin and crunchy corn chips provide the foundation of this culinary engineering, topped with queso, pepper jack, poblano peppers, onions, black beans, and fresh slices of avocado. The shredded chicken tinga is tasty and the hints of red and green tomatoes provide that well balanced moisture and tangy kick.

So this Father's Day, take him out of the garage to a place where he can lounge, enjoy a beer (or two,) and watch a game. There are plenty of delectable items on the menu for ladies too. I suggest you start with the iceberg wedge, followed by the mahi mahi tacos, and conclude with the peach pudding cake. Problem solved. The end.
