Restaurateur Calls Police On Rampaging Otter

Otters are one of the most beloved animals on the Internet after cats, but their extreme cuteness does not necessarily make them less scary when they break into a restaurant and start running around like they own the place.

According to The Local, a Norwegian restaurateur called the police in a panic when an otter burst into his fast food restaurant this week.

"We did not know what kind of animal it was. I have never seen an animal like that in my life," said Mohamed Rashed, owner of Skippy's Fast Food. "I was terrified it was going to attack."

The otter appeared to have been wounded, likely by being hit by a ferry propeller. It ran amok in the restaurant, terrifying staff and customers, until a wildlife officer came to catch it in a dog carrier. The apprehension did not go exactly as planned, and the otter managed to take a big chunk out of the wildlife officer before being successfully trapped.

"I didn't have any gloves, so when I put the otter inside the dog cage, it decided to start eating on one of my fingers," the officer said. "It was not a serious injury, but it was quite strong in the jaws. I had a tetanus shot just after the bite, so it's OK."

Otters have actually been causing problems in the region lately, the officer said. Otters may be adorable, but their growing numbers have been causing them to explore places they don't normally go, and the sudden appearance of an otter can scare people.
