Foursquare Tips

  • Keep with Italian-American tradition and have the obvious side dish of meat-filled, red-sauced ravioli:
  • The restaurant, with its menu of Americana comfort food and Italian favorites, just belongs in North Beach. Some of the furniture from the old location was salvaged and cleaned up for the new one.
  • Wednesday special: oxtail with veggies. HOLY. It's delicious!
  • Cool mid-century modern interiors
  • The crowd is eclectic, the cocktails are traditional and there's decent grub to boot here.
  • Always mention you know Tal. Servers will either kiss you or spill soup in your lap.
  • Order a greyhound...pulpy fresh grapefruit juice with kettle one
  • Minestrone soup here is the best you will ever have. Make it happen. Let me know what you think.
  • Great bartenders and love the veal piccata!
  • Awesome dinner
  • Keeping in line with its name, this longtime legend sticks to the original roots of the Old Fashioned: muddled sugar, cherry, orange, Angostura bitters, soda water, and Woodford bourbon.
  • The lasagne is a house special. Beware, its huge!
  • You'll find beat cops ending their shifts with plates of Italian-American comfort food, steaks cut to Kennedy-administration portions and retired civic leaders putting back one too many $6 Manhattans.
  • Peni was a brilliant waitress!
  • New York steak, yellowfin tuna special and meatballs were all excellent. Great cocktails and service. Love the owner showing us to our table!
  • Get the spumoni!
  • One of the top ten dinners I have had in the last 5 years on business. Food was very good, lots of activity in the bar but not cramped. Very nice.
  • Great food and service!
  • Save a basket of bread to dip with the pasta sauce
  • The lounge is noisy, but sitting by the fireplace is romantic. Eggplant Parmagiana rocks. Wifi sucks, I used Google Free Wifi instead...
