Foursquare Tips

  • This place is great. Feels like being in Mexico City (particularly while walking upstairs, lovely food scent). Food is well priced for Melbourne. Everything was tasty and authentic. BTW, I'm Mexican.
  • So over-rated for the Melbourne scene. Such ordinary bland Mexican. Ambience even feels like a dimly lit food court. Sure, if you want lots of tequila, it's ok, but te fio is meh
  • The chocolate cake is beyond orgasmic. In 9 months I shall be blessed with cake babies
  • Get the fish tacos & order the margarita with Don Julio Blanco tequila.
  • The original in Melbourne for the nu-Mexican restaurant invasion. A pitcher of Margarita and tostadas to start, great dinner is guaranteed! Make sure you order the corn. The queues can be long...
  • I can't understand what's the buzz about this place. The food is bland, the service is rushed and the prices are high. I'm Mexican and I can tell you this place is not authentic at all.
  • The corn is great
  • This place is fucking hot. Amazing mexican food and a massive tequila list. Like no other.
  • Up to 1 hour wait to be seated? No restaurant in Mexico would ever dare to make you wait that long! Believe me, it's not worth your time.
  • Go eat somewhere else! This is nowhere near authentic Mexican. Case in point: pumpkin and praline chocolate in a tortilla? As a dessert?! Jams! PS: I'm Mexican.
  • Enjoy sharing the food and say hi to the person next to you! Be social ;-)
  • Delicious Mexican food and Melbourne's hippest venue right now. Amazing & authentic tacos, quesadillas and burritos. Their fried plantain is delicious, too. Long, long queues & busy but pro staff.
  • Very popular...don't get there late unless you're prepared to wait for at least an hour...great food :)
  • Chicken mole is incredible - but grab some extra tortillas to mop up the sauce.
  • Warning patience required. Waited 2 hours for our banquet.
  • Try the elotes callejeros and get a quesadilla while you're at it - the de Huitlacoche is amazing.
  • Get the corn. That's all I'm going to insist you do. You will thank me later.
  • I recommend everything.
  • I almost chipped a tooth on a gravel rock that was inside my veg quesadilla. According to the staff, that rock came all the way from Mexico, where they import their ready-made beans from. Lovely.
  • you can't go past the chargrilled corn (damn, so good!), pork shoulder tostaditas, grilled fish taco and the sweetcorn ice cream w/ caramel popcorn. good ambience, good food, good times!
