Foursquare Tips

  • They make a perfect margarita here.
  • Order the "hot sauce" ... I think its habanero, but its perfectly not-too-spicy
  • The fresh blend mango margarita was good (&strong). Tortilla soup...heavenly (&spicy). Guac = good. Service started excellent, but ended poorly. 25+ mins waiting for bill &my waitress forgot about us.
  • Split the fajitas. With chips and salsa it's plenty for two.
  • Mariachi is super loud! They play inside as well as outside, so beware on the weekends! Very noisy to the point where I can't hear myself think.
  • The original Mexican restaurant in the entire city!
  • Not too bad... I think so...
  • Stick with the house specialties, whether its the chicken smothered in chocolate mole sauce, pork baked in banana leaves or crab chile relleno.
  • Mole enchiladas
  • Tip: traditional margarita, a beautiful woman and tacos de mole
  • On hot days, order the La Cubana--a perfect combination of salt, lime juice and Dos XX. Essential drinking.
  • The enchilada sauce is amazing!
  • I enjoyed my chicken and rice burrito.
  • Get a pitcher of the Sangria
  • Slow service on busy days, double check utencils upon arrival to table
  • Opened as La Mission Cafe on Spring St. In 1928 it moved to the oldest brick building in LA, built 1855.
  • the mole is good here
  • try the chicken mole
  • Sit on the patio. You can people watch, while you wait for you food, wich seems like an eternity!
  • Best Margarits in El Pueblo. Sit on the terrace and watch tourists buy fake designer bags.
