Foursquare Tips

  • Great shakes, malts, and ice cream.
  • For a little taste of nostalgia, grab a stool at this old-school pharmacy's soda fountain and order a chocolate malt and grilled cheese (or an orange sherbet freeze and tuna salad). [Eater 38 Member]
  • Century old gem! Great prices and even better milkshakes. Fun to take a step back in time to an authentic soda-fountain.
  • Try the Palm Beach: cheddar-based pimento cheese (with jalapeos or without) between two slices of white, wheat, or rye, and cooked up on the ancient griddle.
  • Cream soda is awesome!:)
  • Grilled PB&J was AMAZING! Had a great Strawberry Shake there too!
  • Vanilla malt, death by sweetness..order at your own risk!
  • Outstanding butterscotch malt and cherry ice cream soda
  • Brownies are prepackaged & heated in microwave. Hot dogs also cooked in microwave. Choc cherry shake & sundae taste like something you'd make at home but are good.
  • The sandwiches are 1950's portions so I would recommend a cup of soup on the side. The tomato basil was wonderful.
  • The owner, sonny is super friendly. He said the cherry shakes is the best and goose liver sandwich is a local favorite. Lunch is pack to the door so come early at 11am to guarantee a spot
  • Their chocolate ice cream soda is good
  • Crowded and a little unorganized, but interesting items and (for the most part) friendly staff.
  • The best shakes in Dallas. Period.
  • Rosa is great
  • PB&J... Awesome!
  • It might not be Darby's, but try some local ice cream at this spot.
  • Nostalgic and good food. Seating and parking is tight plan accordingly.
  • Parking is tough in this area around lunchtime.
  • Palmetto cheese and grilled ham sandwich is the best
