  • Get the vegetarian combo.
  • Try the Meta beer. It's sweet and lovely. Also, veggie combo FTW.
  • The Veg Combo piles include beets, red lentils, yellow split peas, cabbage, gomen (collards cooked with garlic and onion) and shiro (ground and spiced chickpeas).
  • I've never had anything other than the vegetarian combo, and have never wanted anything other than the vegetarian combo. Try to get a seat at the boob table and you've got yourself an evening!
  • Among the city's better Ethiopian restaurants. Vegetables are great, but the tartare is our favorite.
  • Blackberry honey wine is fantastic, and the entrees are fresh and top-notch. I'll be coming here very often!
  • Meat combo. Meat egg rolls. Meat. Sponge meat bread.
  • As everyone says the vegetarian combo is a great choice. The place is far too cold on a wintry night for my comfort though.
  • This Ethiopian food is soolllid. You can't go wrong with the classic Awash Chicken and also the Tibs. #DibsOnThemTibs
  • There are two Ethiopian restaurants in the EV within 3-4 blocks of each other: Awash and Meskel (E 3rd St). It's a toss up which one is better. Both are great!
  • The meat combo is great. Lots of different tastes in one huge plate.
  • Honey wine and the combo platter. Share with a friend who isn't afraid to get messy with their hands.
  • Get the meat combo; you get four meats, choice of three delicious veg. dishes. African beers available. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere.
  • Very good Ethiopian restaurant in East Village. But i'll never understand their local and very sweet wine. Not my thing!
  • Came on Saturday evening with plenty of tables. Service was okay, slightly confusing because we had never been there before! So much food!
  • Get the Timatim Fitfit (tomatoes w/ onion + peppers) as an appfresh and spicy. Veggie combo beats meat dishes and honey wine is the perfect compliment to the savory flavors of the meal.
  • $11.50-$15, tibs are recommended. so good!
  • The spiced lentils were our favorite. Expect tons of food
  • Vegetarian sampler for two and a glass of tej. Incredible.
  • Gored Gored for you adventurous carnivores!! Even more adventurous if you try to eat it alone!!
