Foursquare Tips

  • Noshing on the jambon buerre sandwich while sipping a coffee and reading the paper at a corner table atthe spots sun-soaked bistro area might make you feel like you're spending an afternoon in France.
  • Because of the quality of the breads and baked goods, we'd recommend brioche French toast, salmon tartine with avocado, and the classic croque madame are just a few of the stand outs on the menu.
  • Their pastry chef, Margarita Manzke, was named Best Pastry Chef Los Angeles 2014 in our 2014 Best of LA issue!
  • Get the brussels sprouts and the steak tar tar - most delicious. The food is made up in small portions, so maybe get two plates per person.
  • Walter Maznke's ambitious bakery/cafe/restaurant in the former Campanile space in La Brea. Don't miss any of the house-made breads and seasonal specials.
  • Overpriced & generic menu at opening (Nov '13). Beautiful decor and lots of potential though. Hopefully they get there. Enjoy.
  • The desserts, breads, and pastries by Margarita are near perfect while the charcuterie board is sure to stun anyone.
  • The Charcuterie Board is deliciously cured meats complemented by tangy pickled vegetables the epitome of French simplicity and elegance.
  • Get the beurre de barratte. It's amazing.
  • Everything. Get everything!!
  • Inside, the cathedral vibe is shaken up by acres of Philippine-sourced geometric tiles and furniture. Above the bar hangs a giant photo of a glaring Marco Pierre White to provide a wink of badassery.
  • You have go for a pastry when you're here. The crime brle cheesecake was perfectly paired with the vanilla almond milk latte (extra shot of course).
  • Amazing place, the french toast is huge perfect one, better than all i ever tasted, shakshoka too much tomato sauce, omelet nice but the side salad nothing special about it.Almond coffee latte .
  • Can confidently say that, of all breakfast spots in LA, this is my # 1. Their french toast and omelette is to die for. Shakshoka is 2/10
  • Tooooodooo!
  • Forget everything you know about almond milk lattes, this one is the BEST.
  • Using a grass-fed, mostly chuck patty (with dry-aged trimmings from those steaks you see hanging behind glass in the dining area), Manzkes cheeseburger offers a window into indulgence.
  • Get the egg on toast (uni on top of scrambled eggs on top of toast) and the pork chop and belly. Pork chop is cooked to a perfect medium rare.
  • If you decide to have booze with your lunch/brunch outside you have to keep the glass on the wooden bench. Rules.
