Ingredients

  • 16.3-ounce can refrigerated biscuits, such as Pillsbury™ Grands!™ Flaky Layers original or buttermilk biscuits
  • assorted candy bars
  • Canola oil, for frying
  • craft sticks (flat wooden sticks with round ends)
  • Powdered sugar

Directions

Separate the dough into 8 biscuits. Roll out each with rolling pin or press with your hands until large enough to wrap around a candy bar.

Place 1 candy bar in center of each biscuit. Wrap the dough around to completely cover the candy bar, then pinch to seal thoroughly. Repeat for the remaining candy bars.

In a 10- to 12-inch skillet, heat the oil to 350 degrees F. Fry each wrapped candy bar until golden brown on all sides. Remove from the oil to a cooling rack and cool. Insert 1 craft stick halfway into each candy bar. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.

Deep Fried Shopping Tip

Buy cooking oils with high smoke points like peanut, canola, and safflower which don’t break down at the high temperatures needed for deep-frying.

Deep Fried Cooking Tip

Oil and water do not mix – make sure the food being fried is dry before going into the oil.
