There is a reason a square of dark chocolate goes so nicely with a glass of red wine. The flavors are meant for each other, so when you combine them to create hot cocoa, its heaven in a cup. This cocktail has hints of cherry, clove, and soft floral notes that bring the flavors of bittersweet chocolate to life.

Ingredients
- 6 ounce bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
- 1/3 cup fruity red wine
- 1 cup milk
- 1 dash of kosher salt
- sugar
Directions
- Bring chocolate and wine to a simmer in a saucepan over low heat; cook, whisking, until melted, about 3 minutes. Add 2⁄3 cup water, milk, and salt; bring to a boil, and cook, while whisking 3 minutes more. Pour into 2 mugs and serve with sugar on the side, if you like.
