Ingredients

  • 2  Tablespoons  canola oil
  • medium onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/4  Cup  ketchup
  • 1  Pinch of  ground cinnamon
  • 1/8  Teaspoon  chili powder
  • 1/8  Teaspoon  garlic powder
  • 1/4  Teaspoon  hot pepper sauce
  • pinch salt
  • 1/2  Cup  water

Directions

Heat oil in a skillet set over medium-high heat. Add the onion and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft and golden. Stir in the ketchup, cinnamon, chili powder, garlic powder, hot sauce, and salt. Pour in the water, stir into the onion mixture, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes. Serve on top of your favorite hot dogs.
