While pie dough seems like it would be a particularly vexing recipe to make, we promise that this one is not that hard, plus it's flakier and tastier than any of that frozen stuff. All you have to do is combine these very common ingredients and you'll have the basis for a pie better than mom's!

Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup ice water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, diced
Directions
  1. In a large mixing bowl with a dough hook, combine flour, salt, and sugar. Cut in butter cold butter and turn on mixer at a low speed until it resembles small crumbs. Pour water in slowly until fully combined. You mayhave to get your hands in the bowl and make sure all of the butter is well combined.
  2. Wrap dough in clear plastic wrap and refridgerate for four hours or over night.
