  • 1 1/4  Cup  all-purpose flour
  • 1  Teaspoon  baking powder
  • 1/2  Teaspoon  baking soda
  • 1/2  Teaspoon  salt

  • 2  Teaspoons  orange zest
  • 1  Cup  fresh or frozen cranberries, thawed and roughly chopped

Directions

In a large bowl, combine the sugar, wheat germ, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sour cream, oil, orange juice, and zest.

Pour the liquid ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Stir in the cranberries. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.

Cranberry Shopping Tip

Buying fruits in season when they are at the peak of their freshness make for great tasting food and can save you money.

Cranberry Cooking Tip

Don’t throw out your overripe fruit – instead blend into a smoothie or salad dressing, add to muffin batter, bake into a cobbler, or boil down with sugar and a little lemon juice to make jam.
