‘Tis the season for peppermint everything. When you’re a tequila lover, you might feel left out in the cold. This cocktail brings you back to the party and rewards you with chocolate. Think of it as the cocktail the elves would drink if they vacationed in Mexico.

Ingredients

2 ounces 100-percent agave silver tequila

½ ounce peppermint schnapps

6 ounces milk

1 tablespoon hot chocolate powder

Candy cane

Directions

In a shaker filled with ice, combine all ingredients and shake.

Pour into your most festive glass and garnish with a candy cane.

Chocolate Shopping Tip

There are so many varieties of chocolate on the shelves today it can be overwhelming to pick one – as a general rule of thumb, the fewer the ingredients, the better the chocolate.

Chocolate Cooking Tip

When melting chocolate, use a double boiler and stir occasionally to avoid scorching chocolate at the bottom of the bowl.
