Poynt App Points Travelers In The Right Direction

Searching for restaurants and making reservations is just a few taps away with Poynt, a free mobile app for smartphones that connects users with local offers, restaurants, events, gas prices, and weather information while traveling.

Poynt users can search for restaurants in their area and reserve a table directly from the app. One feature, Poynt 360, uses the phone's GPS, compass, and camera to display clickable search results in real time. To make reservations, users simply hold the phone to their ear and the app dials the destination.

Poynt has partnerships with Restaurant.com, Mobile Spinach, and Peekaboo to provide offers and discounts on dining across the U.S., and is partnered with GoMoBo and GrubHub to provide users with the ability to view menus and place food orders while on the go. Partners OpenTable, toptable, LaFourchette, and ElTenedor also provide users with the ability to make dining reservations.

The app uses Google Maps for directions, and users can search for other entertainment like local movie listings, events, and gas stations that have the best gas prices. Users can also view movie trailers and reviews, buy movie tickets, compare prices at local stores, and purchase items directly through the app.

The app covers nine countries, the United States, Canada, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Australia and India, and is available on Android, iPhone, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry smartphones, the BlackBerry Playbook tablet, and Nokia devices.
