Foursquare Tips

  • Chocolate kladkakka...must order dessert (chocolate molten cake with hazelnut ice cream). Treadmill the next day.
  • Unique (but nevertheless delicious) scandinavian-inspired restaurant in town.. Very decent cocktails & wine list by the glass. The scandinavian halibut with lemon verbena sabayon is succulent !
  • Craving authentic Nordic cusine? Check out Plaj's Norwegian Salmon Event. August 26-29 ONLY. Visit http://plajrestaurant.com/norwegian-salmon-event/ #EatNorwegianSeafood Photo c/o Storey Photography
  • Amazing dinner!
  • Not eat the herring here is like going to Portland and not drinking a PBR.
  • Yelp 4.5, recommended by SF Magazine
  • The cocktails here are fabulous! I may come back simply for the drinks. Also order the Swedish meatballs and potato dumpling appetizer.
  • Not really all that swedish.
  • Get the herring sampler, potato dumplings, poached lobster and meatballs. All amazing.
  • Pro tip: the restaurants name is pronounced play. Dont want you lookin like a fool.
  • Watch out the sparkling water isn't complimentary
  • The potato kumla is a must get!
  • Sashimi picked ginger ... A must :)
  • The pork belly with Brussels sprouts n stuff is heavenly. Just heavenly.
  • The sashimi and the meat balls are wonderful.
  • Poached lobster is amazing. Pear soda also excellent!
  • The Taste of Herring is great with bright fresh flavors that, although not traditional, work surprisingly well.
  • In this order: white asparagus, poached lobster, braised ox cheek & rhubarb crumble.
  • This Scandinavian restaurant in the back of the Inn at the Opera has a fireplace to stay warm by.
  • The foie gras was especially good!
